One of the annoying things about Windows 7, annoying to me at least, is having to determine if that application I’m installing or using needs to be run as admin or not. Just an FYI…
I’ve been testing VMs of XP, Vista, and Windows 7 in Parallels. Here’s what I’ve determined - Windows 7 is faster. I’ve even found that Windows 7 64 bit is faster. I haven’t finished configuring it yet; that will come. But, I’ve found that IE8 64 bit and Firefox 64 bit are both very quick to load and respond. I can’t help but wonder what they could do on a true 64 bit processor machine. And I’ve also determined that Vista isn’t as annoying as in the beginning.
I’m still reading these two stories trying to wrap my head around what it means and says about us other that people who have “high-morals” are unethical.
What does it mean?

They’ve only been warning us of this for years. Why don’t they get it? Simple IPSec might’ve helped as would patching and other simple things like that. Or am I off the mark?
When running Windows 7 in a Parallels VM, turn off the 3-D acceleration. You won’t get the fancy Aero interface but it’ll work then.
ScienceDaily (2009-04-08) — In a finding that may help speed the production of ultra-clean fuel cell vehicles powered by hydrogen, scientists in Michigan are reporting development of a sponge-like nanomaterial with a record-high surface area for holding gases. Just 1/30th of an ounce of the material has the approximate surface area of a football field

I was just reading this little article and started thinking…what king of biomedical implications could this have? Artificial lungs for those with pulmonary diseases? Dialysis? Artificial kidneys? Is it feasible to convert this to medical use?
Survived Thanksgiving with the family but have been sick for a week. Still not feeling peppy but can breathe though I have frequent coughing fits, sneezing fits, head-aches, and malaise - just a really washed out and tired feeling.
It’s Thanksgiving already…time to have to deal with family again….ARGH!!!
